Brunel University London is a public research university located in Uxbridge, west London, United Kingdom. It was founded in 1966 and named after the Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. In June 1966, Brunel College of Advanced Technology was awarded a royal charter and became Brunel University. The university is often described as a British plate glass university.

The brutalist architecture buildings presented in this series of photographs are:

  • The Lecture Centre at Brunel University, Uxbridge was designed in the Brutalist style of architecture by John Heywood of Richard Sheppard, Robson and Partners and built between 1965-1967. It gained notoriety as a location in Stanley Kubrick’s 1971 film A Clockwork Orange. In 2011 it was awarded Grade II listed status for being of special architectural and historical interest.
